Project Scope
To understand the various creative strategies, their use, differences and outcome through using an everyday object which should be easy to recognize and understand, as well as have a specific purpose or be useful in some way and in this case the egg beater or mixer. One visual concept has to be developed for each of the creative strategies using the egg beater. The creative strategies used are-
1. Composition
2. Juxtaposition
3. Isolation
4. Metaphor/ Simile
5. Change of context/environment
6. Physical change/similarity
7. Material change, swap or focus
Learning Summary
Inorder to develop these concepts I went through a series of developments such as participating in sketches, digital sketches, visual audits, written brainstorms, and visual experimentation. It was a very good experience especially going through a furnace screening whereby my classmates and instructor would give their perspectives or feedback. Second or third opinions in designing are very important they are an eye opener to what you not able to see and they open to new ideas. The development of these concepts were another stepping stone to my learning and opened a new door for me in how I look at objects and the possibilities of creating another object through a series of strategies and using the principles of design. A good design has to go through a series of refinement. I learned how important it is to brainstorm your ideas first and put into sketches before diving into the digital composition. I also learned to think outside the box given any object. This project made me practice my photoshop skills also thereby learning new tools and how to enhance an image to come up with a high quality visual.
